Kheema Curry Recipe
Kheema curry is a spicy and flavorful curry made from minced chicken and indian spices. The traditional kheema is bit dry and consumed with Indian bread as pav. This dish is called as Kheema Pav. This recipe if bit different and tastes great with rice and roti.
My parents are visiting from India and my mom has been cooking for me since the time she came. I made this dish to give her a break 🙂 She absolutely loved it!
Ingredients
3 tbsp Oil
Whole Garam Masala: 1 bay leaf, 2-3 cloves, 4-5 peppercorns, 1 anise seed
1 lb chicken kheema (minced chicken)
3 onions chopped
2 tomatoes puree
1 tbsp ginger, garlic and green chillies paste
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp cumin coriander powder
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp garam masala
1 tbsp fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
Coriander for garnishing
Salt as per taste
Dry Roast & Grind into powder
10 dry red chillies
4 tbsp coriander seeds
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
1 tbsp fennel seeds
Method
In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add whole garam masala
Add onions and sauté till translucent
Now add ginger, garlic and green chili paste. Cook for 5 minutes
Add red chili powder, cumin coriander powder, cinnamon powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and kauri methi. Sauté until oil separates.
Now add tomatoes puree. Mix well.
Finally add Kheema, warm water, salt and coriander leaves. Pressure cooker it for 2 whistles.
Serve it hot with Roti and Naan

Hey – when do you add the dry roasted spices? I added with the tomato paste and was really wonderful but this step is missing in the method?
