Poha Chivda Recipe-Diwali Delicacy
Poha chivda is crispy beaten rice flavored with peanut and spices makes a delicious Diwali recipe and tea time snack.
Ingredients
3 cups thin beaten rice (poha)
For tempering:
5 garlic pods crushed
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 to 2 green chillies , finely chopped
4 to 6 curry leaves
1 tbsp cashewnuts
1 tbsp raisins
1 tbsp unsalted peanuts
2 tbsp roasted chana dal (daria)
1 pinch of asafetida
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp powdered sugar
a pinch of citric acid
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste
Method
Heat the poha is microwave for 3 minutes
In a deep pan heat oil.
Add all the items mentioned below for tempering except raisins and sugar.
Once everything is roasted well add the poha.
Mix properly. At the end add sugar and raisins.
Store in an air tight container.
