Methi Shankarpale Recipe-Crunchy Diwali Delicacy
Methi Shankarpale is a savory and crunchy Diwali snack made from dried fenugreek leaves and all purpose flour.
Ingredients
2 cups Plain Flour
1/4 cup Oil
2 tablespoons dry Kasuri Methi (Finely chopped)
2 teaspoons Turmeric Powder
2 teaspoons Chilli Powder
3 teaspoons Ajwain
4 teaspoons Sesame seeds
Salt to taste
Method
In a deep dish add flour, turmeric, chilli powder, ajwain, sesame seeds, chopped kasuri methi, and salt. Mix well.
Heat oil and pour it over the mixed flour. Knead together by using some water as and when required.
Cling wrap the dough and keep aside for half an hour.
Divide the dough into 3 parts.
Make a soft round ball of each part and roll it on a clean platform with a rolling pin.
Now cut this round roti into diamond shapes i.e. horizontally and vertically.
Heat oil in a deep vessel and fry the diamond shaped shankar pale on medium heat till golden brown and crispy.
Cool completely. Serve after it is cooled completely as they taste crispier.
Store it in air tight container.
