Goan Prawns Curry, Tilapia & Prawns Fry Recipe
After eating scrumptious Gujarati vegetarian meal cooked by my mother in law yesterday, today it was my turn to cook something spicy and hot. So decided to make the goan prawns curry along with prawns and tilapia fry.
Goan prawn curry is made with unique flavors of shredded coconut, coriander seeds, tamarind and dried kashmiri chillies.
Crispy from top and juicy from within this tilapia and prawns fry is an perfect appetizer.

Goan Prawns Curry
For Marination
1 lb prawns
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp ginger garlic green chili paste
Oil
1 onion sliced
1 tbsp red chilli powder
salt as per taste
Coriander leaves for garnishing
To Grind Into A Paste
1 cup shredded coconut
8 Dry Kashmiri Chillies
1/2 cup coriander seed
5 garlic pods
1 tbsp tamarind paste
Method
Marinate prawns with turmeric powder, salt and ginger garlic green chili paste
Make a paste out of ingredients mentioned under to grind into a fine paste
In the pan heat oil, sauté sliced onions
Add coconut paste, red chilli powder and cook well
Add marinated prawns and sauté for 5 minutes
Add water, salt and let it boil for 10 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
Tilapia & Prawns Fry
For Marination
1/2 lb prawns
1 lb tilapia sliced
5 tbsp ginger garlic green chilli paste
1 tbsp red chili powder
1 tbsp coriander cumin powder
salt as per taste
2 tbsp yoghurt
1 tbsp lemon juice
Oil for frying
1/3 cup rava/semolina
1/3 cup rice flour
1 tbsp red chilli powder
salt
Method
Marinate the prawns and tilapia with the ingredients mentioned under for marination.
Let it marinate for 30 minutes
Heat oil in the pan.
Mix semolina, rice flour and red chilli powder. Add some salt
Coat the prawns and tilapia with semolina and rice flour mixture and shallow fry.
Cook until crispy and serve hot.
Hi I tried the curry today and the prawns fry. The prawns fry was really good, the flavours of the curry was also nice but I probably didn’t grind it fine enough coz it was quite watery with the masala floating around .. thanks for the recipes 🙂
Yes make sure masala is ground finely
