Eggless Rava Tutti Frutti Cake Recipe
The Eggless Rava Tutti Frutti Cake Recipe is a spongy & sweet cake prepared from rava or semolina with curd & milk. I made this cake in a pressure cook just like my previous Banana Cake. It came out to be perfect. Best part it is eggless and butterless 🙂
These days I am trying out recipes in pressure cooker and I have moved to India and the cooking range is not yet in place. But I am actually loving making baked items with unconventional methods. Seems like fun and also learning so many things with the new process. Here is the recipe
Ingredients
1/2 cup yoghurt/dahi
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1.5 cups rava/semolina
1/2 cup maida/all purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
1 sachet of eno
1/2 cup tutti frutti
Method
In a bowl whisk yoghurt well. Add sugar to it and mix well. Make sure all lumps are removed.
Now add oil and mix well again.
Add rava and maida. Make sure to whisk it really well. Add 1/2 of the milk and mix again.
Let it rest for 15 minutes. Meanwhile preheat the pressure cooker.
Take a pressure cooker. Add 2 cups of salt to the cooker.Remove the whistle of the lid. Close the lid of the cooker and preheat for 15 minutes on high flame
Apply oil to the baking tin or steel cooker tin. Add 1 tbsp of all purpose flour and dust it well in the tin.
After 15 minutes of resting, add eno and remaining 1/2 of milk to the batter. Mix well. Add tutti frutti to the batter and mix one more time. Spread some tutti frutti in the tin and add the batter to the greased tin.Sprinkle some more tutti frutti on top of the batter.
Place a small steel plate on top of the salt in the cooker. Keep the baking tin on top it. Bake on slow flame for 60 mins. Check after an hour if the cake is baked properly by inserting a tooth pick.
Remove it from the pressure cooker and let it cool for 20 minutes. Serve it with a cup of tea 🙂 Here is my recipe of a perfect homemade chai 🙂
