Crave Cook Click Holi Theme Meetup April 2017

Crave Cook Click Holi Theme Meetup April 2017

Crave Cook Click organized a meetup on April 16th, Sunday with a theme of Holi & Gudi Padwa delicacies potluck accompanied with a demo of alcohol ink coasters.

It was a prefect meeting with so much enthusiasm and multi talented full house of Crave Cook Click members.  Also, thanks to Asavari for opening her genius kids venue for the meetup and Shweta for conducting the informative and fun filled coasters demo. Last but not the least much thanks to the members who waited till late post meetup to give a helping hand for cleaning the venue.

Crave Cook Click members started pouring in at 12pm and arranged their potluck delicacies. All of them were sporting the graceful Indian attire.

The meetup commenced with a brief introduction of every attendee. I am so glad that we had such a versatile audience of software engineers, entrepreneurs, project managers and home makers. Everyone spoke few lines about themselves and expressed their feelings about being the part of the group.

Introduction session was followed by the Alcohol Ink coasters demo by Shweta Mehta. She explained in detail about the materials and showed every step in creating the beautiful and fuss free alcohol ink coasters. The session was not only helpful but totally entertaining with Shweta’s witty sense of humor. She patiently answered all the questions of the members.

Post the demo, the members tasted the wide spread of holi and gudi padwa delicacies buffet. The buffet was a mix of traditional as well as creative fusion dishes. From Vangi bhat to pan macarons. Yes u heard it right J everything was so delicious.

Holi all big7

Also, how can we not play with colors in a holi meetup 🙂 Thanks to Archana, we had a blast with colors before everyone bid adieu to each other.

Last but not the least, how can I forget many of the members stayed back to help Asavari with the cleanup of the venue. Can’t thank them enough.

My recipe for the meetup was the Mango Rose Pistachio Mousse and here is the recipe

1 cup cream cheese

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 cups mango puree

½ cup rose syrup

1 cup chopped pistachios

In a big bow whip the cream till soft peaks are formed.

Now take 2 bowls one for making mango mixture and another for rose mixture

In one bowl add the ½ cup cream cheese and 1 cup mango puree. Beat it well. Now fold in half of the whipped cream. Keep it aside

In another bowl the remaining half of cream cheese and rose syrup. Beat it well. Now fold in half of the whipped cream. Keep it aside

In a big bowl, add mango mixture, pour the 1 cup of remaining mango puree. On top of mango puree add the rose mixture. Finally garnish with chopped pistachios and refrigerate overnight.

Serve it chilled.

This mousse will be of liquid consistency as no gelatin is added.
