Aloo Gobi Recipe
Aloo Gobi Recipe is a simple recipe made by sautéing cauliflower with potatoes and spices. Hot phulkas with Aloo Gobi can make your regular lunch special:)
Everyday veggies can be made really interesting by adding some new ingredient. I added mustard powder to this recipe and it turned out really great. I got this recipe from my friend Shital.
Even changing the way you cook the vegetable also changes the taste. Like I fried cauliflower and potatoes before cooking in this Aloo Gobi recipe. Mixing the dry masala in a bowl with water and then adding to the veggies add extra flavor to this recipe.
Ingredients
1 cauliflower cut into small florets
4 potatoes cut in cubes
2 onions chopped
2 tomatoes chopped
6 green chillies sliced
2 inch ginger chopped
2 tbsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp cumin powder
1 tbsp mustard powder
1tbsp garam masala
1 bayleaf
few cloves
oil
salt as per taste
chopped coriander for garnishing
Method
Heat the oil in a pan.
Stir fry the cauliflower florets and cubed potatoes in oil. Remove once they are half cooked. Keep them aside.
In another pan, heat oil.
Add bay leaf, cloves and sliced onions. Sautee for 10 mins. Now add chopped ginger. Now add chillies and tomatoes. Mix everything well and let it cook for 5 mins.
In a small bowl mix turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala, cumin powder and mustard powder with water.
Add this mixture to the pan. Mix everything well.
Finally add cauliflower florets and cubed potatoes to the masala. Add some water and let it cook for 10 mins.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot with phulkas.
