The rise of green chillies and Thecha Recipe
This post is about my homegrown green chillies and the thecha made from it. Thecha is a traditional Maharashtrian chutney which is mainly accompanied with Pithla Bhakri. It is made from freshly grounded green chillies, garlic and cumin seeds.
I should admit that i would have never dreamt of growing green chillies in my backyard if dad would have not motivated and helped me. So when he visited us this summer he made sure that i plant some basic veggies in my backyard which i can use in my day to day cooking.
3 weeks back we visited home depot and got some plant, pots and soil. We planted chillies, tomatoes, eggplant and marigold. And guess what i am already harvesting the chillies. It is such an amazing feeling.
I cannot imagine anything else but my favorite Green chili Thecha from these chillies. This is the only dish which can give full justice to my homegrown beauties:)
