Stunning Mendocino
Mendocino despite its small size, is a scenic town on a headland surrounded by the Pacific Ocean which has made it extremely popular as an artist colony and with vacationers.
We went there to celebrate our 5th anniversary and it was beautiful.
The 5 hour drive from South Bay was stunning and surrounded with redwoods all the way to Mendocino.
When we reached it was almost sunset and I got to capture some stunning views
It’s a cute little town with beautiful houses, interesting libraries, great local restaurants and magnificent views. There are light houses, state parks and couple of trails which you can visit but we preferred to make this more relaxing than sightseeing. It’s the place where you can stay overnight, relax and return back the next day.
We stayed at the Sea Gull Inn Bed & Breakfast. It was a beautiful victorian house with different kind of cozy rooms. We stayed in Driftwood room which is one of their costlier rooms but I think it was was well worth it.
A fun experiment I did on the day of anniversary.
They serve complimentary breakfast in the bed and that was one of the best part of our trip. Freshly baked muffins with coffee and cute little Happy Anniversary note made my day 🙂
We went to Patterson’s Pub which was at walking distance from inn for dinner and drinks.
The next day morning we visited the downtown.
We had lunch at the Mendocino cafe. They served amazing Thai Seafood Firepot and Chicken Fettucine paired with great white and red wine.
For Dessert we went to Frankie’s and they serve the unique Mushroom ice cream
For coffee and some fresh baked goods you should check out the Good Life Cafe & Bakery
