Kurkure Recipe
Kurkure is the perfect savory snack made from urad dal and rice flour. This was the simplest recipe which I made for Diwali. It was ready in 30 mins. It is amazingly tasty and crunchy for the efforts you put in to make it. Now it is going to be a regular in my snack box:)
1 cup of rice flour
3 tsp of urad dal flour
3 tbsp butter
2 tsp of asafetida
1/2 tsp of cumin seeds
1/2 tsp of white or black sesame seeds
Salt as per taste
Method
Roast urad dal and powder it fine.
Mix urad dal, rice flour, melted butter, salt, asafetida, cumin seeds, sesame seeds and salt.
Add enough water to make dough.
Take a small ball from dough and insert in the chakali maker.
Heat the oil. When it is smoking hot, press the mould over the oil lightly until enough batter comes out.
Fry until golden brown. Remove it, let it become cold and store in an air tight container.
If you want to make chatpata kurkure you can add red chilli powder, amchur powder and fine sugar powder to it.
