Green Prawns Curry with Bangda Fry Recipe/How to make green prawns
Juicy prawns curry made from cilantro, chillies and indian spices. Accompanied with bangda fry i.e. mackerels marinated in a spicy and tangy masala and shallow fried.
This recipe was shared with me by my dear friend Sahana J I am sure this is going to regular in my menu as it’s so simple to make.
The whole garam masalas roasted gives it an amazing flavor.
Ingredients
½ pound prawns
1 big bunch of cilantro
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp jeera/cumin
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp black peppercorns
4 garlic pods
Salt as per taste
Oil
Method
Clean and marinate prawns with turmeric powder and salt.
Dry roast cumin seeds and coriander seeds.
Make a paste out of cilantro, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, peppercorns, garlic pods and salt.
In a pan hear oil and fry the masala well.
Let it cool and marinate the prawns in the masala for 30 mins.
At the end heat 1 tbsp of oil and fry the marinated prawns with masala for 10 minutes.
If you want consistency, you can add some warm water and boil it once.
Serve it hot with some rice.
Tip: If the masala turns out to be too spicy, you add some grated coconut and grind it again.
