Gulab Jamuns…Roasted 🙂
Gulab Jamuns made in the Appe pan/Aebleskiver Stuffed-Pancake Pan were just amazing. No more need to fry the jamuns when you can have a healthier version by roasting them in the appe pan.

Required
GITS Gulab Jamun mix
Appe pan/Aebleskiver Stuffed-Pancake Pan
1 tbsp ghee
Method
Prepare the dough with milk as per to the directions on the Gits Gulab Jamun Mix.
On the side make the sugar syrup as per the directions on the box. Also add some saffron strands and crushed cardamom.
Heated the appe maker on gas and put it on low heat.
In each round section, add about half a teaspoon of ghee and put a dough ball in each of them.
Rotate them every 30 or 40 seconds to make sure they got an even brown color on all sides.
They also start puffing up while they cook.
Keeping them on low heat makes sure they get cooked all the way through the center.
Once they have puffed up enough and are the perfect brown color you want, take them out.
Put them directly in the hot sugar syrup.
When all the Gulab jamuns are done and have made it to the syrup, cover the pan/bowl with a lid and let it rest for 20-30 minutes so it absorbs the syrup nicely.
