Michelin Star Rasa Restaurant Review-Birthday Celebrations 2016
“Rasa Indian” opened in November 2014, is a Michelin Star Contemporary Indian Cuisine restaurant in Burlingame,CA. I got the chance to enjoy their simple yet flavorful food on my Birthday. This was chosen by Ritesh and I totally enjoyed it.
The executive chef at Rasa is of the San Francisco “DOSA” fame. To craft their menu, they traveled up and down India’s coast, from Kerala to Hyderabad and beyond.
Unlike other Michelin Star restaurants it is not fancy but serves food which is worth a Michelin star. The ambience is very subtle yet pleasant.
In appetisers, we tried their Crispy Idli Chaat which was crunchy idly with tangy and savory chat flavors and chutney prawns which were rich with some malabar flavors.
My in laws enjoyed the Bollywood Dosa and Uttapam which was spicy with flavors of Ghost chilli accompanied with authentic sambar and chutnies.
My personal favorite was their Rasa Biryani which was so moist, crunchy and flavorful.
Also the Mangolee was so refreshing made from Aam Panha and chilli.
They also surprised me with the Butterscotch sundae topped with a candle to celebrate my Birthday 🙂
I loved their service. We reserved a 1.30pm table so escaped the lunch rush hour. Being a michelin star with great service and delicious food it is reasonably priced.
I will definitely look forward to come here again.
Wore this saree gifted by my Mother In Law.
