Crave Cook Click Sindhoor Khela
Every year we plan a Sindhoor Khela Meetup for our Crave Cook Click members. For Bengali women, the last ritual of Durga Pooja, Sindhoor Khela holds much significance. The sindoor(vermilion) is a symbol of married life. Bengali women first apply sindhoor on the idol of Goddess Durga on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami, and then on other Bengali women and wish each other a happy married life and good luck.
It is believed that ‘Sindur khela’ dates back to time when the tradition of Durga puja started nearly 400 years ago.
We are lucky to live in Bay Area where every festival is celebrated with so much zest and enthusiasm. Women Now TV organised the Bay Area Durga Utsav and Aishwarya Kalley from Crave Cook Click coordinated the event for Crave Cook Click Group.
It was tons of fun with all of us smearing each other with sindhoor and sharing lots of smiles and good wishes. To join future Crave Cook Click events..Click here
For the occasion i wore the Kalamkari Sari which i got from my friends Meena Rupali’s store Silks.
