Chocolate Coconut Truffles
Writing this post makes my mouth water! The truffles turned out amazingly sinfully delicious! Though me and ritesh finished all of them…Sigh! But now you guys can definitely make this super simple yet mouthwatering truffle. Common who doesn’t like Chocolate???
Chocolate Truffle name derives from the usual shape they take as the word ‘truffle’ derives from the Latin word tuber, meaning “swelling” or “lump”, which later became tufer.
The chocolate truffle was first created by Antoine Dufour in Chambéry, France in December 1895. They reached a wider public with the establishment of the Prestat chocolate shop in London by Antoine Dufour in 1902, which still sells “Napoleon III” truffles to the original recipe.There are now three main types of chocolate truffles: American, European, and Swiss. This recipe will make around 60 truffles.
Chocolate Coconut Truffles
Ingredients
1 cup cream
1 cup desiccated coconut
1 cup chocolate chips
½ cup sugar
3 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp butter
one packet hide and seek biscuits chopped
½ cup chopped almonds
½ cup walnuts
Desiccated coconut for garnishing
Method
Boil cream. Add desiccated coconut. Mix properly.
Now put the cream and desiccated coconut mixture in an air tight container. Let it refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Take a double broiler. Melt the chocolate chips in it.
Add sugar and cocoa powder.
Finally add butter and coconut oil to the mixture. Blend it well.
Remove from gas and let it cool.
Now take out the cream and desiccated mixture from refrigerator.
Add the chocolate chip mixture to it.
Add chopped almonds, walnuts and hide and seek biscuits to it.
Mix all together and roll into 1-inch balls.
Garnish with the desiccated coconut.
Store in refrigerator when not being served. Let warm to room temperature slightly before serving.
You can add coconut extract instead of coconut oil.
Adding Malibu rum can add extra flavor.
Any chocolate flavor biscuits will do if you don’t find hide and seek biscuits.
