Happy Women’s Day!!! Celebrating with my Mom’s Recipes :)
Today is International Women’s Day and I thought this would be a right day to post about a Woman who inspires me the most in my life..and that’s my Aai..My mom.
Let it be cooking, handling difficult situations, adapting to married life or new responsibilities, she has always been a pillar of strength and my strongest support.
This time when I visited Mumbai I was amazed by her energy. All the times she was on her toes, doing something or either. Always ready to make me delicacies, socialize with me or even go shopping 🙂
I think there comes a time in your life when your Mom becomes you best friend. And I felt the same way this time.
She used to make almost 4 meals a day and that too effortlessly. Every evening she asked me the menu to be made for the next day. She just wanted to make everything for me in 3 weeks 🙂 She had to make sure that I ate everything she made for me till 25 yrs of my life in this limited span.
Everyday same question..aaj kay banvu anu tujhyasathi? What should I make for you today Anu?) I miss it so bad L I wish I can hear her words everyday morning.
The moment she started to cook I was in the kitchen with my cam. She always asked me..kiti photo Kadhshil anu, kantal nahi yet ka??? (how many pics you will click Anu, don’t you get bored?) I always ignored the question with a smile 🙂 I am glad I took so many pics, I can visualize her cooking everytime I see those pics:)
Dad’s department was to get fresh fish from fish market (crabs, bombil, prawns are my fav), tender chicken and mutton. I remember him going to the fish market at 7am so that I get to eat the most fresh fish:) He made sure that he got me mutton from Dharavi which is a famous mutton market in Mumbai.
Mom, Dad, Home food and The city were we were born are such an important part of our life. We realize there value when we move away from them 🙂
Distance always makes the heart grow more fonder 🙂
This post includes all the amazing dishes which she made for me 🙂
