Chicken Kheema Wheat Naan Recipe

Soft, crunchy and healthy kheema naan made from minced chicken filling stuffed in whole wheat naan. It’s crunch on top and soft and spicy inside. The best part is that you don’t need yeast or tandoor to make this naan. It can be made easily in oven.

Chicken Kheema Wheat Naan Recipe

Naan

Ingredients

1 cup all purpose flour IMG_6771

1 cup whole wheat flour

1/3 cup yogurt

1 tbsp Baking Powder

1 tsp Garlic Salt

4 cloves of Garlic – minced

(We will use 2 cloves in the dough and use 2 cloves as a topping)

2-3 stalks of Cilantro leaves for garnish

4 tbsp butter

1 tbsp oil

2/3 cup water

Method

Mix all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, Baking powder and garlic salt.

Add minced garlic in yogurt. Mix well. Add this and 2 tbsp butter in the dough.

Mix to form a crumbly dough.

Gradually add water to form smooth dough. Pat with some oil and cover with a wet kitchen cloth. Let stand for 1 hour.

Kheema

Ingredients

1 pound minced chicken

2 onions chopped

1 tomato chopped

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

1 tbsp red chilli powder

1 tbsp garam masala

1 tbsp coriander and cumin powder

1 tsp cinnamon powder

½ cup cream

Salt as per taste

Method

In a pan heat oil.

Now add chopped onions and ginger garlic paste. Sautee till onion turns translucent.

Add tomatoes, red chilli powder, coriander cumin powder and garam masala. Sautee till oil separates.

Now add minced chicken and let it cook for 10 mins.

Next add cinnamon powder and salt.

Finally add cream slowly and mix properly.

Sprinkle some fresh coriander.

Method for Kheema Naan

Preheat oven and baking sheet to 550 F.

Roll out dough in the form of a naan. Use dry flour as needed.  Stuff it with the kheema filling. Roll it in again.

Put Uncooked Naan on preheated baking sheet. Grease the baking sheet a little.

Bake at 550 F for no more than 5 mins.  Broil it for 5 more minutes

Kheema Naan is now ready. Serve with yoghurt or mint chutney
